Routine ear and hearing screening
A simple £35 doctor-led ear health check for patients without current ear symptoms who want reassurance about their ear and hearing health. Your doctor examines your ears first and, where appropriate, can guide you into a full in-house hearing assessment.

This appointment is designed to be clear and limited in scope. It is for patients who feel well, have no active ear symptoms and would like an ear health check with advice on whether hearing assessment would be useful.
A doctor examines the ear canal and eardrum to check for visible concerns such as wax, inflammation, infection or eardrum changes.
If a full hearing assessment would be helpful, we can explain the next step and arrange in-house audiology support where appropriate.
This is not intended for ear pain, discharge, dizziness, tinnitus, sudden hearing change, suspected infection or complex symptoms.
Ideal if you have no current ear symptoms but want guidance on whether a hearing assessment or hearing aids may be appropriate.
You can book directly online or by phone without needing a referral from your GP.
The Routine Ear Health Check costs £35, with any recommended next steps explained clearly before further care is arranged.
Please choose this appointment only if you do not currently have ear symptoms. If symptoms are present, a Private ENT Consultation is the safer and more appropriate appointment.
If you have pain, discharge, tinnitus, dizziness, sudden hearing change, suspected infection, recurrent ear problems, or you are unsure what is wrong, please book a Private ENT Consultation. That appointment is designed for diagnosis, treatment advice and medical decision-making.
This appointment can identify whether wax appears to be present, but it is not sold as a wax-removal appointment. If wax removal is needed and clinically appropriate, your clinician will explain the correct next step and any difference in fee before treatment is provided.
The appointment is intentionally simple, structured and focused on screening rather than treating symptoms.
Your doctor asks a few focused questions to confirm that you are suitable for a routine check and not better served by an ENT consultation.
Your ears are examined using clinical ear equipment to check for visible wax, inflammation, infection signs or eardrum concerns.
You will be told whether everything looks reassuring, whether a full hearing assessment may be useful, or whether medical review/treatment is more appropriate.
The Routine Ear Health Check costs £35. It is a low-cost, doctor-led screening appointment for patients without current symptoms. It should not be used as a cheaper substitute for an ENT consultation or wax-removal appointment.
