Our Story

Doctor-led ear and hearing care for Nottingham and beyond

Nottingham Ear Clinic was created by a group of local doctors who have come together to improve access to safe, professional ear and hearing healthcare in Nottingham and beyond. Our aim is to provide a clinically considered service where medical expertise, specialist ear-care experience and a team of experienced audiologists work together within a regulated clinic environment.

Why we exist

Why Nottingham Ear Clinic was created

Nottingham Ear Clinic was established by local doctors who recognised that ear symptoms deserve careful medical assessment, not a rushed or purely procedural appointment. Symptoms such as blocked ears, ear pain, discharge, itching, tinnitus, dizziness or hearing change can have several possible causes, and the safest care begins with understanding what is actually happening.

Our purpose is to provide a more clinically robust standard of private ear care: unhurried appointments, careful examination, clear explanations, appropriate treatment and access to further audiology or medical input when needed. The clinic brings together doctor-led ear care, significant ENT experience, medical-grade instruments and highly experienced audiologists within a CQC-regulated clinical environment.

Patients can expect a calm, professional service built around safety, clinical judgement and continuity. Whether someone attends for wax removal, infection symptoms, tinnitus, hearing concerns or more complex ear problems, our focus is to provide care that is thorough, well explained and tailored to the individual.

Medical Director

Clinical leadership by Dr H Sandhu

BMBS, BMedSci, MRCGP, PGCert MedEd

Nottingham Ear Clinic is medically led by Dr Sandhu, a GMC-registered doctor with extensive clinical training and significant experience in ear, nose and throat medicine. Dr Sandhu trained at the prestigious University of Nottingham Medical School and has worked across hospital medicine, general practice and specialist ENT care, including specialty training within The Queen’s Medical Centre ENT Department.

This breadth of experience helps shape the clinic’s careful approach to ear symptoms, hearing concerns and more complex presentations. Patients benefit from clinical assessment that considers the ear itself, the wider medical context and whether audiology, treatment, follow-up, imaging or onward referral may be appropriate.

In addition, Dr Sandhu has completed postgraduate training and holds Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Dr Sandhu continues to work as a practising NHS GP alongside Nottingham Ear Clinic, bringing wider medical insight to the assessment of ear and hearing symptoms and supporting the clinic’s emphasis on safe practice, professional standards and clear clinical decision-making.
